Monday, November 28: Tokyo Orientation Ends- Yanagawa Bound!

In Tokyo, I learned about Japanese politics, economy, education and the status of women. I was introduced to the Japanese breakfast, possible lunch and dinner main dishes as well as to an organized, demanding, and rigourous schedule. I learned about Tokyo life through the lense of my camera.

The Japanese organizers took care of every detailed. In returned, they expected professionalism and puntuality, little expectations for such a fantastic effort.

My Yanagawa group went from the Prince Hotel to Narita on a charter bus. On route, we received instructions about our Yanagawa adventure. Everything worked on time. Our luggage had gone before us and my suitcase was to be waiting for me at the hotel in Yanagawa. I just had a carry on with me.

I felt sad to leave Brian and Mark behind. I also felt I had lost a good opportunity to meet my group members better. They had developed close relationships during the free weekend trips, and doing night life at Tokyo. I also felt that I was not taking as many pictures as the rest of my group.

I was scared because they were so talented and I wanted to represent Oklahoma well. With all my hesitations in mind, I went on with the adventure.
